Freeriding
Freeriding is the passion of Herbert, our host. Together with Margret, his wife, he uses every free minute to make his tracks on the snow-covered slopes, gullies and other descents around the Tauernhof.

Powder skiing in Obertauern. The Freeride Checkpoint Obertauern is located in the area of the Hochalmbahn and Kringsalmbahn mountain stations. These boards provide special information and rules of conduct for freeriding.

Check your ride
Safety first. Be sure to follow the information provided by the Salzburg Avalanche Warning Service, check your freeride equipment and check the function of your avalanche transceiver before heading into open and unsecured terrain. Please never go into unsecured terrain alone and without an avalanche transceiver!
